vtec conroller and valves??

I have a field vtec controller and I have it set at 4200 RPM. Is this going to burn out my valves faster. I was talking to some street racers and they told me to set it about 4500 rpm and that would be safer. I know that it should not be set below 3000. I dont know any help would be great.

also if any of you guys have one, what do you have the fuel adj set at. I have just the minor bolt-ons. So far I havent touched it I scared to mess something up.

Do a dyno run. One with vtec at 8 grand, the other at 1. Where the TORQUE curves cross, is where vtec should kick in for you.

You'll find however that you can lower VTEC on a N/A car to about 4000 with no problem, especially if you have a fuel controller and can add a little gas at 4000 to 4400. 4400 is where vtec kicks in at normally.

How much fuel should I add +1,2,??, how much is to much and @ what range? you said 4000-4400?? does that sound roght to any one else. Can I hurt the motor that way??

Here's the scoop, if the ECU says low cams, and the controller says high, the ECU is still on the low cam map. You'll need to have just a little more fuel, just a little.

BUT if you don't get the car on the dyno, you won't know. Remember that the transition into a power band, doesn't mean the car is making more power over all. But I think you can safely lower the VTEC crossover to around 4100 or so, and just add a LITTLE fuel from 4100 to 4300, and you'll more than likely see a little increase. Get it on a dyno and do it right.

I have a field vtec controller I can only add fuel in incroments of 1 in each rmp level ex..4000RPM +1 or 5000RPM +2. I had more fuel added in at 4000 and I didnt see or feel any difference? I just put it back to stock. thanks for all the answers.

Ive had the vtec controller for a while. I know a kid that wants one, how much do you want for it I'll see if hw wants it. He is local I see him at the races all the time.

Hey Nick! It's Ahad (white 4 door). If I only knew you were buying a vtec controllor...I am looking to get rid of mine, I got the Apex i Super V-AFC. Know anyone else that might be interested locally? If I can't sell it locally, then I'll consider selling it nationally.

Hey Nick

It's the same one you got. The Feilds. As long as I get $225, it's all good. You can make anything you want off of him, just don't push him away from the deal with a high price.

Oh BTW, It's still in the car, I'm taking it out when the turbo goes in, which should hopefully be by the end of this month. This way your friend has some time to come up with the cash.
